Overview

 

You will choose a career you are interested in pursuing and will research the answers to specific questions about it listed below. You will type up your results in a one-page report and attach a bibliography of the sources you used. Then you will give a short oral report to the class.  This is an individual assignment and will be due for a grade on May 27th/28th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1: Choose Your Career

 

Using your Holland Hexagon Inventory worksheet, choose a career that is appropriate for you based on:

 

a)    Your personality type

b)   What you’re good at

c)    What you like to do

 

This website allows you to enter your primary and secondary personality characteristics (based on the Holland Hexagon) to search for appropriate jobs for you. The jobs are listed on a scale of 1 (very little education/training required) to 5 (high levels of education/training required). It also provides information on specific skills, salaries, and more about specific jobs.

Step 2: Research Your Career & Prepare Your Bibliography

 

For this assignment, you must use at least three resources.

• Only two can be electronic resources and must be found through the resources listed below. Note: For this assignment, you may not use websites you find through seraching on Google, Ask, or any other free search engine.
• At least one resource must be print OR you may also interview someone who currently has the career you wish to pursue.
